Marine Acoustic Regulatory Support

Trusted science integrated into EIA and permitting/consenting.

Permitting Support That Withstands Scrutiny

INSPIRE supports every stage of environmental review for offshore energy and marine infrastructure projects. We deliver regulator-ready acoustic technical chapters, mitigation and monitoring plans, Marine Mammal Mitigation Plans (MMMPs), Construction Method inputs, and receptor-specific documentation that integrate seamlessly into EIS, EIA, and other consenting submissions.

Our work aligns with established marine mammal injury and behavioral criteria, fish and invertebrate particle motion thresholds, cumulative and transboundary impact requirements, and marine protected area considerations. We emphasize defensible assumptions, proportionate analysis, and clear documentation—reducing review cycles, strengthening regulatory confidence, and supporting timely project approvals.

Related Projects

Rosslare Europort Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Hub Project

INSPIRE performed noise modelling of piling for the Rosslare Europort ORE Hub harbour expansion and prepared a marine mammal impact assessment chapter and technical appendix for environmental impact assessment reports.

Related Projects

Noise Modelling for SONAR Sources in the North Sea

INSPIRE performed noise modeling and noise impact assessments for a variety of SONAR equipment used for surveys in the Danish North Sea, including multibeam echosounders, sub bottom profilers, side scan SONAR, and USBL positioning systems. Modeling informed marine mammal impact assessments of the potential risk of injury, mortality, and behavioral disturbances to noise.

Related Projects

CAPE Holland Vibroacoustic Modelling

INSPIRE is working with Cape Holland to develop simulations of the sound field resulting from vibratory pile installation and investigate the extent of noise-induced behavioral responses in marine mammals compared to impact-hammer pile installation.
